Siemens reorganizes its global business in China and fine tune

the global electrical and electronic giant Siemens AG (hereinafter referred to as Siemens) which has not yet escaped the bribery scandal is trying to become more transparent and efficient through a new round of global business restructuring and board "slimming down"

on November 28, the supervisory board of Siemens approved the restructuring plan proposed by the new CEO peterloescher. From January 1 next year, the company's existing 10 business departments will be reorganized into three sectors: energy, industry and medical treatment, with 15 business departments, and the number of board members will be reduced from 11 to 8. China will also make appropriate adjustments

this restructuring is Siemens' first large-scale adjustment since 1989. According to the restructuring plan, power generation group (PG) and transmission and distribution group (PTD) will be merged into the energy sector, automation and drive group (a amp; d), industrial systems and technical services group (I amp; s), transportation technology group (TS), Siemens Building Technology Group (SBT) and OSRAM Co., Ltd. will be reorganized into the industrial sector, and medical systems group (MED) will be incorporated into the medical sector. After further restructuring, the energy, industrial and medical sectors will have 6, 6 and 3 business departments respectively

in order to adapt to the new business structure of the company, Siemens reduced the size of the board of directors from 11 to 8, including Luo Xude, three CEOs in charge of the three business sectors, and four other senior executives in charge of Finance and control, human resources, legal affairs, and technology

"the new corporate structure will further improve our profitability and transparency." Luo Xude said that a clear division of labor will enable us to react faster in the market and be closer to customers

in May this year, Luo Xude, the former CEO of Merck, replaced klausklein feld, who left his job because of the bribery scandal, and became the new leader of Siemens. After he took office, on the one hand, he led the company to cooperate with the investigation of relevant institutions to rebuild public confidence; On the other hand, promote the company's reform and improve efficiency and flexibility. In early October, he put forward a preliminary restructuring plan, and then set up a working group to define and plan the business of the three sectors in detail. On November 28, the supervisory board of Siemens approved and officially announced the restructuring plan and the new organizational structure of the company

next, Siemens will announce the list of heads of 15 business departments in early December, and announce the newly set profit targets for the industrial and energy sector at the annual shareholders' meeting on January 24 next year. Previously, Siemens has adjusted the profit target of the medical sector from the original 13%-15% to 14%-17% in early November

this restructuring will also involve China. Hao Ruiqiang, President and CEO of Siemens China, told this newspaper at the annual press conference held on November 21 that the company's global restructuring is expected to be completed in the next six months, and China is ready for the restructuring, just fine tune it

in Hao Ruiqiang's view, Siemens' global adjustment is not a comprehensive reorganization, but a reorganization of its previous business lines into different sectors, and targeted structural and process optimization, in order to give full play to the joint efforts of various business lines

it is understood that after the reorganization, Siemens will maintain the original matrix structure between the global business and regional companies, but will give higher priority to the global business, and regional companies will strengthen their sales responsibilities. In terms of China business, the industry expects that Siemens China will adjust with reference to the restructuring mode of the headquarters after the reorganization of the headquarters is completed. Hao Ruiqiang said that the current organizational structure in China has been in place to a large extent, and there is no need to make significant adjustments

an insider of Siemens China said that at present, China has not released the news of restructuring, and it may not promote the adjustment of its business in China until the headquarters restructuring is completed next year

in fiscal year 2007 (October 1st, 2006 to September 30th, 2007), Siemens' business in China continued to maintain rapid development. Only when the sales volume and new orders achieved the correct aluminum alloy connector connection solutions did it finally reflect the fundamental value of aluminum alloy cables, which increased by 21%, reaching 53.3 billion yuan and 60.7 billion yuan respectively. Hao Ruiqiang said that Siemens will invest 5billion yuan of its investment in China in the field of technological innovation related to energy conservation and environmental protection

Hao Ruiqiang expects that more than half of the company's future sales in China will come from the field of energy conservation and environmental protection. By 2010, Siemens' new orders in China are expected to exceed 108. Round specimen clamping diameter: φ (2) 6mm00 billion yuan. (Liu Weixun)
